Ohio: Binary Trigger Ban

By Tim Gamble

Tim's Comments: Ohio State Senators and Representatives are trying to ban many common gun accessories, such as binary triggers. The bills that have been introduced are SB 307 and HB 644. If you live or work in Ohio, please contact your State Senators and Representatives and let them know you oppose these bills.

The following is a press release by the Gun Owners of America (GOA), dated September 17, 2024.

OH: Stop The Binary Trigger Ban

Anti-gun Senators and Representatives are trying to ban accessories like bump stocks and binary triggers.

Primary bill sponsors Cecil Thomas and Michele Grim and their co-sponsors Rachel Baker, Sean Brennan, Rich Brown, Sedrick Denson, Beth Liston, Lauren McNally, Phil Robinson, Veronica Sims, and Daniel Troy have decided to introduce a bill that would ban simple firearm accessories

SB 307 and HB 644 would prohibit accelerated trigger activators (e.g., bump stocks, binary triggers, crank triggers, and possibly more). This is nothing more than a scare-tactic to outlaw accessories commonly owned by thousands of law-abiding gun owners across Ohio.

Moreover, SB 307 and HB 644 would make current owners of accelerated trigger activators criminals overnight. That’s right! Mere possession of a previously owned accelerated trigger activator could land you in jail.
